“I started Sports Conditioning 3 years ago. Since then my athletic ability has increased a lot. I gained more power, speed, and agility. This gives me an advantage on the basketball court and the soccer field. I am able play with more explosiveness. As a goalkeeper, I need to be able to come off my line quickly and then be ready to change directions at a moments notice. Sports Conditioning has helped me gain that agility, giving me an advantage over opponents. My increase in vertical jump has given me an advantage on the basketball court as well. I am able to pull down more rebounds and shoot over girls. I enjoy lifting and conditioning, so the workouts were always fun and challenging for me. My experience with the sports conditioning program was amazing. I got the chance to not only train with the best possible trainers in the area but I also got the chance to meet a lot of new people and make great connections.
The program definitely prepared me for college football, I was one of the few kids that the coaches thought about not redshirting my freshman year, and there was about 45 freshman that I came in with. I caught the eye of Northern’s strength staff very quickly. I would say that I was ahead of the curve in not only strength compared to the other incoming freshman but I thought my conditioning was much better than theirs.
I would tell athletes that are on the fence about getting into the Sports and Conditioning program to definitely join the program because in today’s world if your not training for your sport, your just not going to make it very far. I don’t know where I would be without this sports and conditioning program, I would most likely just be going to school and not participating in college athletics.
